The Prudent Retiree - What's Going On Part XXV

After the demise of The Beatles, John Lennon continued on with The Plastic Ono Band. He was active in the protest and anti-war movements of the 1960s and 70s. He was especially adamant in his music about the deceit and hypocrisy of politics. “Gimme Some Truth” was a blistering indictment of the politics of that time. Perhaps it still applies to the current moment. It’s safe to say we’re all tired of the ugliness in our national discourse regardless of whom we favor.

Prudent Retiree reads the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post and comprehensive news feeds every day. I want to get all the facts. Recently, I watched a speech by a national leader. I heard it with my own ears. The next day I read an account of the speech in a national newspaper by a noted reporter. His report distorted the speech and attributed words and phrases that were never spoken. He was more interested in pushing a narrative than telling the truth. Sadly, this happens too often. All we want is the truth. Just give us some truth.

The market does tell the truth. Everyday. No spin, no lies. We advocate always listening to the market. Pay no attention to the man or woman behind the curtain. Gimme some truth. Maintain your current equity allocations. There will be volatility and we could see a correction anytime. We are concerned about the uptick of COVID-19. We are concerned about the November elections. We monitor risk daily and will keep you informed. Right now, the market seems to want to move higher.
