The Prudent Retiree - What's Going On Part XXIV

John Lewis and C.T. Vivian, two heroes in the struggle for Civil Rights and equality died on July 17th. Their passing is a great loss for our country. There is much to be learned from their dignity, courage and unwavering non-violence. Both were Freedom Riders who traveled throughout the South to peacefully protest discrimination and segregation. Both were beaten and jailed frequently. Both held to their convictions and were instrumental in the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights of 1965. Both were awarded the Medal of Freedom by President Obama. Take the time to learn about the lives of these men who made a difference.

We suggest maintaining current allocations. The market remains positive. The biggest risk is a continuing resurgence of COVID-19 and a slowdown of the economy. We expect volatility and some unsettling moments. Expect periodic corrections, but for now it’s best to stay the course.

That’s what is going on.
