The Prudent Retiree - What's Going On Part XX

Right now is a time for perspective. So much seems to be off kilter. Every word and action is fraught, we fear for our health and rage rules the streets. Will our jobs and finances be okay? Some thrive on the chaos, but most of us hope for a return to normalcy. One hundred years ago, “A Return to Normalcy” was the winning campaign theme for President Warren G. Harding.

Thanks largely to the Fed, the market has seemingly returned to normal. We continue the powerful upward move that began March 23rd. Uncertainty in most every area of life means there are numerous risks to monitor. We remain positive on the market and recommend that you maintain current equity allocations. The disconnect between economic, social and health risks and the market continues. When it comes to your portfolio, the market’s perspective is what matters.

Yonder Mountain String Band is a major force in bluegrass jam music. Give them a listen if you haven’t already. I heard their song “Complicated” last weekend and it gave me some perspective. Life is good in spite of current events. This week my oldest grandson turns five. Last Saturday, our new grandson, Evan Horseman, was born. Congratulations to my son and partner Jake and his wife Lora. Welcome to life, little guy.

Truly, I feel like things are better than they seem.
