How frustrating is that? We all want to know what will happen and when it will happen. Reality, though, is if it hasn’t happened we don’t know. This is why the prediction business is a billion dollar business—buy this newsletter or listen to a certain person on television or radio.

The Beatles were arguably the greatest band of all time (forgive me Stones’ fans). Even Ed Sullivan didn’t know until afterwards they would be that big.

What’s true for music is true for the market. Before something is known, it’s only a best guess. Everything I learned in economics said tariffs and a trade war would be the death knell for a bull market. Not yet, though. Chaos and instability in Washington, D.C. should sink the market. It hasn’t yet.

We don’t get to know what isn’t yet known.

Metaphor time. The bull may be seeing red. Perhaps we are in the ninth inning of this market. There is a vast political schism in our nation. What does this mean and why doesn’t the market do what we think it will?

There’s nothing you can know that isn’t known. Listen to the market—it will decide what it will do. Right now, we remain positive in our outlook. We are however, concerned by the many potential warning signs. Be prepared to take action. In the meantime, listen to the Beatles. Fifty years on they are much more enjoyable than the daily news. Love is all you need.
